Cora Wen close-up

Cora Wen is an international expert on yoga therapy. She is an ERYT-500 (senior) Yoga Alliance certified instructor and is also CYT certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She frequently teaches in S. Asia and Thailand as well as throughout United States. Cora is a favorite of yoga students of all levels due to the extraordinary energy and life experiences she brings to her classes. After sowing wild oats in New York City in the 70s with rockers Deborah Harry and Patti Smith, she had careers in fashion and banking. Cora assisted Erich Schiffmann and Rodney Yee extensively throughout the 90s, while working as a corporate banker. Eventually, she left banking to follow her love and passion for yoga fulltime. Cora's expertise has arisen from over two decades of teaching and apprenticing with America’s most influential teachers. She has studied philosophy and therapeutics extensively with Judith Hanson Lasater and Patricia Walden.

What Teachers Say:

“I am filled with inspiration for Cora's commitment and for the simple joy she radiates. I enjoy being with her as she discovers her own self on the mat and then shares it with others.”

“Cora Wen is a wonderful and gifted instructor who has excellent workshops and intensives across the world... ”

Healing House Yoga, Covington, Georgia

“I was very inspired by the way you led with the spirit of silence, how you incorporated play, and also how you wove that into the “practice” of our everyday lives. Walking away, I feel that I received something very special and yet, I could not put my finger on it. I am honored to have met you and hope our paths cross again.”

Suzanne, Walnut Creek, CA

Class Description

Cora Wen at class

Classes are sequenced so they can prepare and open the body for asana and pranayama practice. We focus on postures to strengthen and increase flexibility, while building a solid foundation for continued practice.

Slow and mindful movement allows us to be guided from within, creating a lighthearted approach to asana. This can begin to bring a sense of wellness and harmony both on and off the mat. Preparing classes this way helps challenging poses become easier and "easy" poses more interesting...

Cora is committed to the practice of yoga and believes fitness and healing are byproducts of yoga; the actual purpose is to awaken our highest potential as human beings. Her workshops and classes are an environment to expand, explore and challenge your body, mind and spirit.
